Christopher's Jumbo Lump Crab Cake is a single platter served with tomato horseradish butter, sweet corn relish, and mashed potatoes. Their menu may have changed, but their website does not indicate the availability of a crab cake sandwich.
The crab meat is definetly jumbo lumps, mixed in with some broken pieces. There is some visible binder amongst all that crab meat, which tastes like it is a breadcrumb and mayonnaise mix. The crab cake is served on top of the mashed potatoes, which are surrounded by the tomato horseradish butter and sweet corn relish.
As big as the crab lumps are, they are lacking in flavor. You end up tasting more of the binder. What flavor the crab has is ok, but it's more meaty than sweet. The horseradish tomato butter is apparently supposed to be the spice, which is ok, but tastes more like tomato than anything else. Really could have done without the butter. Because the cake is served on top of the potatoes, the cake and potato will mix together eventually. This isn't a good thing, as the potatoes have more flavor than the crab cake, and becomes the predominant flavor. The corn ended up being very acetic. Put all of this together, and it's not really all that great of a combination.
