The crab cake platters consist of broiled Maryland jumbo lump cakes, served with fresh vegetables and starch of the day. Single and double platters are on offer, with both jumbo lump crab and backfin. Sandwiches are also available, served with one side. They also have crab cake sliders, which are fried.
The jumbo lump crab cake is nothing more than crab meat, Old Bay and a smidge of mayonnaise. The crab meat has a nice, meaty flavor to it, but not that signature Maryland Blue flavor. Mind you, we went in the off-season, so they may just be using what is available. They do advertise Maryland Blue crabs, so we may have to do a follow-up in a few months. You know, for consistency. ;^)
Overall, the crab cake could use a bit more flavor. If the crab meat really sung, then that would be all your need, with a few flavor accentuations. But if using just regular Maryland crab, the spicing could be punched up a bit. They do have crab seasoning available, just ask for some on the side. Lemon alone isn't going to help.
