On review is the crab cake sandwich, which is a 6 oz crab cake served on a kaiser roll along with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, chips and pasta salad. There is also a crab cake platter available, which delivers two crab cakes along with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley.
The first thing you notice is the bready texture, which is nice, warm, and inviting. The cake is mostly crab, which has a really nice, sweet flavor to it. The cake itself has lots of lumps of crab meat with only a few broken pieces mixed in. The filler/binder has a great flavor to it, although it is just right amount to let you know it's there without smacking you in the face. It makes itself known, then steps back to let the crab shine through, which is the main reason you got this sandwich in the first place! A nice amount of moisture to the crab cake is present, which is always a good thing.
Overall, this is a fantastic crab cake. It could use maybe a bit more spice to it, but even then we can't really complain. So if you ever find yourself north of Bawl'mer, be sure to swing by and taste for yourself. Just try not to get too shipwrecked! ;^)
