The jumbo lump crab cake entree is a 1/2 lb cake, made with an exclusive recipe consisting of jumbo lump crab and secret seasonings. Comes served with two sides. A sandwich is also available, titled under a different name, but is the same crab cake as the entree. If that's not enough, crab balls made with backfin crab meat are available as an appetizer. Dinner entree served with lemon wedge and tartar sauce.
Breaking into the cake, we first noticed that the crab cake was indeed mostly jumbo lumps of crab, along with the few expected broken pieces. Not much else aside from a light bread binder and spices.
Crab meat is really sweet and tasty -- usually you don't find this quality of crab in the size of the cake being served without it being mixed in with a lesser grade of meat. Bread binder adds a different level of sweetness to the flavor profile, resulting in a nice, buttery texture. Works very well together. You don't notice the spicing so much on the front end, but some does hit you on the back end. While our cake could have been a little warmer in the center, it was at least perfectly cooked everywhere else, with no dryness on the edges. Get the Old Bay fries as one of your sides, and you'll be in for a treat!
